Brazing is the joining of metals through the use of heat and a filler metal - a filler metal whose melting temperature is above 450°C but below the melting point of the metals being joined.

GENERAL INFORMATION ON ARCWEL SILVER BRAZING ALLOYS
Used for low temperature joining of carbide and diamond tipped tools, heat exchangers, refrigerators ,heating, cooling and air con. Saw blades Installations, thermo states, transformers, relays, electrical motors ,solar panels, radiators and towel warmers, spectacle frames etc.

High silver content (56%) provides the best combination of low melting temperature, high strength and excellent capil­lary flow, good color match on stainless steel. Use on all ferrous and non-ferrous metals (not for white metals). Ideal for application in the food industry (dairies, breweries, bottling companies, hospitals, manufacturing of lamps, etc.)
Most used alloy in HVAC industry.

Brazing alloy for tungsten carbide 
Laminated (Tri Metal) sandwich type Silver alloy.
Specially developed for larger carbide tool tipping.
849 consist of a copper base metal and is coated on
both sides with a low temperature 49% silver alloy
Joints made with 849 will absorb stress and prevent or reduce cracking of the tungsten carbide
For joining tungsten carbide cutter tips to steel, Saw blades, milling cutters, lathe tools, manufacturing etc.
